What is Average to Athletic?

My first 5 years of training I would describe as uneventful.

Nothing to write home about. Nothing that would get a million likes on Instagram. Just turning up, punching the clock (as Dan John would say) and being savagely good at the basics (more of what those actually are later!)

5 years later I can deadlift triple body weight and perform a human flag.

If you're just starting out you don't need to be focusing on what your fitness idols are doing now…you need what they started with.

But *basics don't seem to sell

Turning up 3+ times a week for weeks, months and years isn't sexy enough.

In this section of p2p coaching I will be breaking down the process of what it takes to go from average to athletic.

Whilst we're on the topic, for me being an 'athlete' isn't determined by weight on the barbell, numbers on a scale or body fat percentage.

I've worked with enough athletes who are blessed with heaps of natural talent that it somehow defies their lack of work ethic in the gym.

If you realise that you want to look, feel and move better, and you are prepared to repeat sensible steps over the long haul...congratulations. You, my friend, are an athlete.

Stay tuned for future content on how to go from average to athletic.

*In future content, I’ll be explaining what these basics actually are. If you can’t wait until then, or you’ve fallen for my reverse psychology and want to prove that the basics do sell, you are welcome to prove me wrong by “purchasing” my eBooks
